Hello and welcome.

My name’s Tom, and I’m a writer. It’s always been my intention to sell a million-dollar screenplay or to one day pen the next Great American novel, but my propensity for procrastination has thus far gotten in the way. One of the most productive ways I procrastinate the most is by lending my talents to software companies.

I’ve been a technical writer for over eight years now, and while it hasn’t yet led to fame and fortune, it has allowed me to pay the bills and work with some pretty brilliant people. Gradually and then suddenly, it became a real passion.

It turns out, creating tools to make people’s jobs easier, less stressful, and more fulfilling so they can be happier, more productive members of their teams, companies, and society is pretty meaningful work. Who knew?

Anyway, this project serves two purposes:

  1. A personal website for me to host my resume and writing samples.
  2. A hands-on way to learn more about static site generation and web development.

If you want to get to know me a little better, check out my about Me page or my resume. Better yet, check out some of the samples in my portoflio.

If, however, I’ve impressed you enough already that you just need to get in touch right this very second, connect with me on LinkedIn or drop me a line and I’ll be sure to get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for reading!

Writing Sucks

Writing sucks. It’s painful, uncomfortable, and lonely. It’s a brutal teacher, urging you to bring all your powers to bear on a subject, only to show you just how much you don’t understand. But the only thing worse than writing is not writing. More than anything, I want to grow. I want to become the best version of myself I can possibly become. Over time, I’ve realized writing is the surest path to achieving that growth and becoming the best version of me.
